Tour
of 2 days and 1 night:
the trip on the Carretera Austral to Puerto Bertrand
goes through one of the most important forested areas
of Chile and along the lakeside of General Carrera which
is renowned for its spectacular turqucise coloured water.
It is al the Baker River,the most voluminuos river in
Chile, that we will enjoy a basic level rafting trip
which gives us the opportunity to see the scenery from
a different angle
Day
1
We wíll leave Coyhaique on the Carretera Austral
heading south all the while enjoying ah the attractions
it provides; a visit to the archeological site of
the cave paintings, a boat trip to the marble caves
on the shores of General Carrera Lake.
A picnic will be provided en route Arriving at the
picturesque village of Puerto Bertrand we wi!l be
provided with a delicious dinner and spend the night
in sorne beautiful local cabins.
Day
2
We will need to get up early to do a rafting activity
on the river Baker. An expert guide wiil take us down
the first rapids and then into the calm waters beyond.
There will be time to swím aud watch all the
wildlife; this is one of the few, major rivers in
the world that is still unexploited. After a picnic
lunch we will go back to Coyhaique On the scenic Carretera
Austral where huemul, condors and other species of
birds are still easily spotted. Groups of 4 to 6 people
